En 1870 y murió en París en 1907.

Siendo un brillante alumno de la Academia de San Carlos, ingenioso, mordaz apto para la caricatura pictórica.

Su madre lo envió a completar sus estudios a la Escuela de Arte de la Universidad de Karlsruhe, en Alemania.

Trabajó bajo la dirección de los pintores Mayerbeer, Klinger y Stuck, y recibió la influencia decisiva de Arnold Boklin. De regreso a México en 1898, expuso por primera vez en laAcademia de San Carlos.

Durante algunos años formó parte del grupo de intelectuales notables que hicieron de la revista moderna el órgano de difusión del más avanzado pensamiento modernista; desde entonces se dedicó al género de la ilustración.

En 1904 se instaló en París donde aprendió el arte del Grabado al Aguafuerte, su brillante especialidad plástica. Maestro consumado, hizo dibujos macabros y dolorosos, trazados siempre con un sentimiento poético dosificado por el agónico romanticismo germánico.
